Does this sound like jealousy or not? Susan Boyle, 48, admits that her idol has been Elaine Paige, 61, the world renown singer and musical theatre veteran. Boyle was able to live out a dream by singing with Paige in December.
It seems Paige however did not enjoy Susan Boyle's performance and had some unkind remarks.
Elaine Paige slammed Boyle at a recent London event as "a virus really that spread across the world in a nanosecond." She is a girl with no experience of anything to do with theatrics, the music business, or art in any way."
Paige is also not a fan of the talent competitions like Britain's Got Talent and the X Factor, stating that they are "just take a bunch of people from real life who think they can sing and try and turn them into overnight 'stars' with a couple of songs..Ha ha. It's not entertainment.'"
Paige has recently recanted her statement saying that she was not talking about Susan Boyle being a virus but the way fame spreads so rapidly today..."It's all about turning someone into an immediate celebrity at the expense of longevity and working hard and experience."
Susan Boyle spent years idolizing Paige singing along with her songs in her bedroom using a hairbrush as a microphone. Why the rude comments? It seems that Boyle was expressing the ultimate form of flattery for her.
