Who's with me? Is taking off your shoes to go through airport security one of the stupidest, dumbest ideas ever thunk up? How many people even wear flip flops in the winter just to make the ordeal more bearable? How many others among us absolutely refuse to remove their shoes or pretend they don't know about this ritual because they think it is the dumbest, stupidest idea ever?
Besides that terrorists are really kindof smart and would never ever hide another bomb in their shoes, fruit of the looms yes, shoes no... not again. Does that make me crazy that I don't believe this?
The TSA and airport security for at least five years now have been batting around the idea of shoe scanners. Despite brief testing periods at airports like LAX and TLV, not one airport has bought these machines because it's something full-body scanners should take care of.
Not, because nothing makes sense in the crazy world we live in today. Full body scanners do not go all the way to the floor. So where does that leave us...still waiting in line for the full body scans with our shoes off and making pedicures a booming business. Terrorists are going to do what is not being looked at...doesn't that make more sense?
